ISTE resources help librarians find tools and strategies to inspire innovation
Librarians are school leaders who advocate for student access to edtech, curate tools and resources, and collaborate with students and colleagues to create meaningful learning opportunities. Educators charged with such diverse duties deserve targeted resources to amplify their practice!
That's why ISTE has curated a collection of resources librarians can incorporate into their work right away.
Developed with support from Follett, ISTE has teamed up with Future Ready Librarians™ to create a crosswalk showing the relationship between the FRL framework and the ISTE Standards for Educators. Use this resource to guide and deepen the work you do as a librarian or library media specialist, or to rethink, redesign and grow the role in your school or district.
Our new ISTE U online course, Exploring Future Ready Librarianship: Practices for the Emerging Leader, guides participants to reflect on their current professional practice, review Future Ready strategies for librarians and identify specific areas for growth. At course end, participants develop an implementation plan specific to their goals.
When 25 librarians from an Alabama school district took ISTE’s Future Ready Librarianship course, the result was transformative! ISTE, with the support of Follett, shares the story of these librarians who were empowered to transform their practice and lead from their libraries.
Leverage your role as a librarian to build relationships, mold culture and climate, and advocate for the needs of students and the community. Order ISTE’s newest book in the Digital Age Librarian series, Leading from the Library: Help Your School Community Thrive in the Digital Age.
The ISTE Standards for Educators are a road map for innovative educators to guide their schools and classrooms through meaningful use of technology for learning. These standards apply to librarians' roles as catalysts, collaborators, facilitators and designers.
This PLN provides robust online discussions and PD opportunities for nearly 2,000 librarians who leverage technology knowledge and expertise to improve school library programs, increase access to information and foster strong digital age teaching and learning environments.
